Luton Town unveil plans for new stadium

The Hatters are bidding for a place in the Premier League and have released pictures of their planned new home

The world will finally get a closer look at Luton Town's Kenilworth Road stadium on Friday 1 September when the Hatters host West Ham

Luton Town have released pictures of their planned new stadium as the club bids for a place in the Premier League.

The Hatters are currently top of the Championship and are on course for automatic promotion to the top flight for the first time since 1992.

The club's current home, Kenilworth Road, has been in use since 1897 and is one of the oldest stadiums in the country.

However, it is not up to Premier League standards and the club has been planning a new stadium for several years.

The new stadium will be built on the site of the former Power Court playing fields, which are located next to Kenilworth Road.

It will have a capacity of 23,000 and will be the first new stadium to be built in the Premier League since the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened in 2019.

The club is hoping to submit a planning application for the new stadium in the close season and is aiming to start construction in 2024.

If the new stadium is built, it will be a major boost for Luton Town and the town of Luton.

The club has a long and proud history and the new stadium will provide a fitting home for the Hatters in the Premier League.
